The signing ceremony of co-operation in scientific research, education and technology (Grundfos pumping module) transfer for Water Supply and Sanitation Department, National University of Civil Engineering
The ceremony was well-organized with the presence of Prof. Dr.Phan Quang Minh – Vice-Rector of National University of Civil Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ung Quoc Dung – Vice Chairman of Vietnam Water Supply Association, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - CEO of Grundfos Vietnam, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh - Director of the Institute of Environmental Science and Engineering, and many delegates, teachers, students of Water Supply and Sanitation Division, National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE).
The purpose of the agreement is to build a model of co-operation and co-ordination in the systematic and multi-dimensional professional activities, timely meet the needs and improve the quality of education, scientific research and technology transfer, improve the efficiency of production and business, effectively exploit the potential, the resources, the strengths of both sides of expertise, technology, facilities, etc., for the sustainable development of both sides, for the Vietnam Water Supply and Sanitation sector in general and for an effective contribution to society.
According to this partnership, Division of Water Supply and Sanitation has received The Grundfos Pump Station simulation System which valued more than 500 million VND, including booster pump (with control cabinet, 2 pumps with inverters and their accessories); submersible pumps and control panel; flowmeters and flow sensors on the pipeline; the digital dosing pump; the set of remote communication allowing the control of pumps via smartphones and internet. The system is installed at the Laboratory of Water Supply and Sanitation Division for the purpose of modeling, visualization tools for students and Scientific Research, Grundfos also supports the Water Supply and Sanitation Division softwares of Grundfos company's copyright and technical documents to calculate the choice of pumping equipment for civil engineering and industry towards "Green - Clean - Energy saving".
Furthermore, Grunfos company will create more opportunities for undergraduated students, graduated students and PhD candidates of NUCE to do internship, visit and understand the actual production and production management of the Company; to receive the young professionals of NUCE to examine and have short-term and long-term trainings to improve their skills and to update the practical knowledge relating to techniques for better teaching and scientific research.
Institute of Environmental Science and Engineering will organize training programs, update professional knowledge and qualification of officials and employees under the various forms of training, including on-site training; providing trained human resources of the Institute of Environmental Science & Engineering and the Division of Water Supply and Sanitation to Grundfos Vietnam as require of company.
In the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - CEO of Grundfos Vietnam saidthat “Grundfos is very interested in community activities, including co-ordination with the universities in co-operation training, sharing experience”. With this co-operation, he hoped that he would help students of Water Supply and Sanitation program at, NUCE in studying and researching to feel more confident and have more passion with their profession. Grundfos Vietnam Representative also hope this will be a long-term co-operation and will achieve fruitful results.
On behalf of the University, Prof. Dr. Phan Quang Minh expressed his acknowledgement to the generous support of Grundfos Company, and encourage the co-operation activity between both sides in planning to promote co-operation in scientific research and training at NUCE as well as support the research that both sides were determined to do in near future.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ung Quoc Dung, Chairman of Vietnam Water Supply highly appreciated the competence of both the Institute of Environmental Science and Engineering and Grundfos Vietnam Company; and congratulated the successful start of this co-operation.
Some students such as Ngo Minh Tu and Nguyen Van Khanh - 5th year students of Water Supply and Sanitation program attended the signing ceremony and visited the Grundfos Pump station simulator. They were very excited and impressed especially for energy-saving solutions, contributing to the environmental protection of Grundfos pumps. According to the two students, these products are essential for life in the trend of climate change and resource scarcity.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh, Director of the Institute of Environmental Science & Engineering added that from this semester, students of Water Supply and Sanitation program will embark on the study of application of new pumping solutions in systems of urban water supply, water supply in green buildings, etc. Two scientific research projects with energy saving pumps and drainage pumps to deal with flooding, and with climate change conditions have been chosen to implement this year. Co-operation with Grundfos Vietnam is one of the activities that IESE and the Water Supply and Sanitation Division (NUCE) are looking forward to and continuously promoting. NUCE leaders and Vietnam Water Supply Association leaders are very supportive in expanding partnerships with businesses/enterprises to update information and practical knowledge into lectures, contributing to improve and innovate content of programs and teaching methods to enhance the quality of training, application of scientific research into practice and bringing benefits to both sides, universities and communities.
