Kurita Asia Resarch Grant 2021

Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) supports scientists of Asian nationality who are conducting research in their own countries. The focal research area is water-related Environmental Science and Technology.

Notes: KARG is intended to support academic research. Research programs aimed primarily at generating business profit will not be adopted.

1. Research Subjects Supported

Research subjects related to water environment in the applicant's country can be applied. Examples of appropriate research subjects, but not limited to, are water/wastewater treatment, water quality analysis, sustainability of water environment sanitation, water ecosystem, agricultural water use, industrial wastewater treatment.

2. Research Period for 2021

From October 1^st, 2021 to October 31^st, 2022.

3. Amount of grant

Maximum amount is 400,000 yen per an adopted research.

1. Criteria for Applicants who can apply

Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) supports scientists of Asian nationality who are conducting research in their own countries with following criteria.

a) The applicant must reside in Vietnam.

b) The applicant must conduct research at university, college, or associated institute in Vietnam (except private sectors).

c) The applicant shall be young academicians, young researchers, Master or PhD candidates under 40 years of age. For Master or PhD candidates, an approval from Supervisor is required.

2. Application period

From April 1^st, 2021 to May 14^th, 2021, 17.00 (JAPAN standard time) or 15.00 (HANOI standard time).

3. Selection

Proposals from applicants will be evaluated by the Vietnam national selection committee where Prof. Nguyen Viet-Anh, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, is the chairperson. After reviewed by the KWEF Selection Committee the adoption proposal will be approved by the KWEF Board of Directors. The President of KWEF will inform of the board's decision to adopted applicants only by the end of August by letter. The name of the adopted applicant, the name of his/her institution and the title of the research program will be posted on KWEF website in September 2021.
